Asthma Review

Patients who suffer from asthma have an annual asthma check in the month of their birthday. This makes it easier for patients to remember when their annual review is due.  Asthma patients do not need to wait for the invitation letter and can ring the surgery to book an annual asthma check appointment with the practice nurse in the month of their birthday.

This check will enable the surgery to review the control of patients symptoms and extend their inhaler repeat prescriptions

When patients attend their asthma review we ask them to bring their reliever inhaler with them so that we are able to check their inhaler technique is effective.

Please note that apart from the annual asthma checks patients may be advised by the doctor/nurse to attend the surgery for additional follow-up asthma checks.

If a patient feels that their asthma symptoms are deteriorating or have any concerns, they are asked to ring the surgery to speak to a GP via our triage service  between 08:30 - 9:30 Mon - Fri to discuss their symptoms.
